It’s been a crazy few days before my birthday.
I feel like singing this blog entry to the tune of “12 days
of Christmas.” And I would encourage
you to do so as well, except that I still have like 6 days to go. So, technically, today, we are at the point
of “5… Gollldennnn riiinnnnngggss…”
So I guess it’s still fair to sing, except
please know that we are only half finished.
October 4th
On the first day of my birthday celebration, my true friends
gave to me... a lovely surprise birthday party.
They got me.
Needed a beer immediately.
Henry was there.
Steve was there.
Mike was there.
Rachel and Sue
Look at my cake!
Rachel refused to eat my face.

October 5th
On the second day of my birthday celebration, my mother and
Mario gave to meeee… Hours of yardwork
and painting the shed, etc.
Joy brought me like 4 seasons of Friends
Melissa and Arthur visited from South Carolina. Melissa gave me gifts which included junk
food, since I always complain about there never being junk food in Smidgen’s
house, a What-Does-The-Fox-Say Christmas decoration, and pizza, both gummy and
real.
October 6th
I had some delicious leftovers for lunch from the
party. It was delish.
October 7th
My yellow flower bouquet is on my desk. I stick my whole face in them occasionally. I do it every day. Don’t care who is lookin’. It happens.
It’s like a present every time.
October 8th
Some of the ladies at work came over to my desk with a
cupcake, and serenaded me with a full chorus of a Celine Dion song, in lieu of “Happy
Birthday.” I’ll take that 10 out of 10
times. It was awesome.
October 9th
Surprise coffee visit with my dearest, darling friend Ryan
whom I only get to see once or twice per year.
He is in Baltimore for like 8 hours, so he we went for coffee at the
crack of dawn. He is just the best kind
of human. Such a light on this earth.
This is the part where you go, “Surprriiiiiisee… Coooofffeeeee Viisssiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit….”
Right? Maybe I’m off
by a day or two. Who cares.
Anyway...
The time has come.
I will be on a plane headed for Washington State in approximately 42 hours. This trip will be awesome. And Smidgen and Cow
will have company at the house, so I don’t have to worry about that.
I can already tell that at least the first 3-4 days of the
trip are going to be epic and out of control - everything will be on a whim. MWAHAHAHAHA.
Actually, the whole trip will be magnificent. MWAHAHAHA.
